“No plans to return”…will we see the 62-homer MVP again this year?
Jersey (31-New York Yankees) hit 62 home runs last year to win the American League MVP. Will we see him again this year?
Newsday spoke with Yankees general manager Brian Cashman on Thursday (June 14) about the timeline of Judge’s return from injury.
Judge injured his right big toe on April 4 during a road game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was placed on the injured list (IL) with a torn ligament in his big toe after making a heavy contact with the outfield fence while fielding a ball.
More than a month later, there is still no word on Jersey’s return. He was scheduled to play in the All-Star Game on April 12, but was unable to do so.
Jersey (right) hasn’t played in over a month since his injury. It’s unclear when he’ll return.
“There’s no timetable for his return,” Cashman said, adding, “He’ll be back sometime in the second half.”
The Yankees have been left in the lurch since Jeter’s departure. According to MLB.com, the team has struggled since his absence, posting the league’s lowest batting average (.218), on-base percentage (.288), and third-fewest runs scored (117).
Time for Judge to rebound. I’m curious to see if Judge will join the team in the second half and show MVP majesty.안전놀이터
