‘Alfonso, Der Licht, Upamecano, plus Walker’ Kim Min-jae’s Munich teammate ‘out of form’
Bayern Munich are building a massive defense.
Fabrizio Romano, who is well versed in the European soccer transfer market, broke the exclusive news on social media on Thursday. He claims that Benjamin Pavard could be headed to Manchester City.
“City have prioritized Fabar as a possible new right-back signing. With Kyle Walker joining Munich, a deal has been advanced by the player’s side and is not yet finalized. Munich and City will continue to discuss both Pavard and Walker.”
The English publication The Athletic echoed the same sentiment, stating, “Walker has verbally agreed to join Munich. A transfer fee has not been agreed but talks are continuing. City are expected to get more than £15 million for Walker.”
“City are working on a new deal to keep Walker at the club next season. If Walker leaves, it will be another headache alongside the departures of Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva. It’s even worse when you factor in Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo.”
Munich narrowly missed out on the Meisterschaft (German Bundesliga title) last season. They were crowned champions after knocking off Dortmund in the final round of the season. That wouldn’t have been possible without Mainz, led by Lee Jae-sung, catching Dortmund.
A desperate Munich and Thomas Tuchel have been busy in the transfer market. First up is the defense. Luca Hernandez has left for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Kim Min-Jae is coming in. Munich made a late entry into the race for Kim, which included Manchester United, Newcastle United, Chelsea, and PSG, but they’re on the verge of closing the deal.
Walker is their next target. He came through the ranks at Tottenham and then spread his wings at Man City. However, his fortunes have been shaky of late, with his contract nearing expiration. Speculation has been swirling that his unhappiness with not starting against Inter Milan in the UCL final led to his departure.먹튀검증
If Kim and Walker were to arrive at the Allianz Arena, how would Munich defend? At the back, a combination of Matthijs de Ligt, Dayo Upamecano, and Kim could be deployed. In the back four, it could be Alfonso Davies, Der Licht, Kim Min-jae, or Walker. That’s a lot of power just from the name value alone. Munich will finalize the signing of Walker with a transfer fee adjustment.
