59-year-old Lee wins KPGA Champions Tour title…fifth career victory
For the first time in four years, 59-year-old veteran Lee Boo-young has won a tournament on the Korean Professional Golf Association’s (KPGA) Champions Tour for players aged 50 and older.
Lee shot a 3-under 69 on the final day of the Owners K Champions Open (100 million won in prize money) at the Mountain-Lake Course (par-72) at Phoenix Country Club in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon Province, for a two-round total of 8-under 136.
With a one-stroke victory over the second-place group of Park Do-gyu, Jang Ik-je, Park No-seok and Lee Young-ki, Lee recorded his fifth career victory in four years after winning two KPGA Champions Tour events in 2019.먹튀검증
“I was in good shape throughout the tournament and felt good with my iron shots and putts,” said Lee, who made his senior debut in 2014 and was crowned the 2016 KPGA Tour Champions money winner. “I’m thrilled to win after a long time.”
