A soldier who died from a gunshot wound during a shooting exercise at an army unit in Yangju토토사이트, Gyeonggi-do, reportedly met with an unfortunate accident while switching shooting positions.

According to military authorities, at around 12:15 p.m. on the 22nd, Private A, a soldier in his 20s who was firing a K2 personalized weapon at his unit in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do, suffered a gunshot wound (penetration of the larynx) and died after being rushed to a civilian hospital for first aid. He was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state after being struck by a rifle round, and was later pronounced dead.

It is believed that Private A was shot when he slipped while transitioning from a kneeling position to a standing position.

The kneeling position involves shooting with one knee bent and attached to the ground while supporting the gun with both arms and resting one elbow on top of the other knee. Stand-up shooting is literally shooting from a standing position with only your arms supporting the gun.

Authorities, including the military and police, are conducting a general investigation into Private A’s background and unit life. So far, nothing unusual has been found.

“We express our deepest condolences for the death of the deceased,” said a military official, “We will keep all possibilities open to investigate the cause of the accident and do our best to support the bereaved family.”
